Little Hocking Fire and Rescue is accepting applications to join our department. If you are interested in joining contact Chief Mike Chevalier at 304.481.3477 or pick up an application at our station between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM any Wednesday night. Requirements for joining are as follows.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent
- Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License
In order to answer some of the questions a potential candidate may have, the following is a list of operating procedures and and other information about the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department.
- All members are volunteers.
- Firefighters are always on call and are expected to respond to calls if available.
- All EMT’s are on call from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM and are expected to respond to calls if available.
- From 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM EMS calls are responded to by one of five squad crews.
- Meetings/Training Sessions are held at 7:00 PM every Wednesday night and members are expected to attend unless work or other unavoidable appointments conflict.
- Members are expected to participate in fundraising events such as the July 4th Ice Cream Social and the Annual Pancake Breakfast.
- A six month probation period is required for all new members. After six months, the organization votes for full membership of the candidate.
